Its purpose is threefold (article 1): ::a) providing for the criminalisation of certain acts; ::b) protecting the rights of victims of the offences established under this Convention; ::c) promoting national and international co-operation. As of late-September 2015, the treaty has been ratified by Guinea, Hungary, Moldova, Spain, and Ukraine.
